The world is a tumultuous place right now and therapy can be a helpful tool for navigating the difficulties. I work with clients with a wide variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, ADHD, low esteem, perfectionism, difficulty with boundaries and communication, and trauma. I specialize in Mindful-Based In-Depth Psychotherapy, Spiritual Psychology and am trained in EMDR for trauma. I'm trained in EMDR for distance/video therapy. I also highly recommend Emotional Freedom Technique during this time. For couples therapy, I am trained in Emotional Focused therapy and use techniques in the Gottman Method. I've seen profound changes with clients in my 15 years as a psychotherapist. I offer a compassionate, warm, non-judgmental therapeutic approach and have over a decade of continuing training to ensure skill and commitment to the work of psychotherapy.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and received my Masters degree in Counseling from Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling in 2013. I am a trained Sensorimotor Psychotherapist (Level 1), EMDR trained, Certified Yoga Practitioner (CYP-500), have training in facilitating Trauma Recovery and Empowerment groups (TREM) and Saber Es Poder (SEP) groups. Additionally, I have completed 30 hours of teacher training in Pranayama studies (yogic breathwork). I incorporate these core areas of education in my therapeutic approach. As a somatically focused mental health therapist, I integrate a body-centered approach in which the wisdom of the body assists the therapeutic process. Within this approach, I encourage clients to listen and honor the signals that the body provides. I value supporting my clients tell their stories as they have experienced them, explore emotions and understand thinking patterns that influence their relationship to themselves and others. I work with individuals on identifying the disruption in these areas of their lives that come from stressors, distorted ways of thinking, unhealthy habits and behaviors, isolation, and a disengagement from the natural world. I specialize in CBT and ecotherapy walk and talk model. CBT is goal oriented and focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thinking and behavior. PERINATAL AND PARENTING SUPPORT: The seasons of pregnancy and parenthood are marked by layered, sacred, and complex transitions and changes in identity and relationships. I offer inclusive, holistic, and holding therapy for individuals who are trying to get pregnant, are pregnant, have experienced pregnancy loss or fertility concerns, abortion, miscarriage, or for those who are transitioning to parenthood or have parenting concerns. I am particularly interested in helping individuals build intentional parenting patterns through better understanding of their own relationships and mental health. I have specialized training in life-span development, particularly in prenatal and postpartum counseling and in parenting.
