If you feel overwhelmed, confused, anxious or alone, it might help to have someone on your side to help you sort through the mess without judging you. I enjoy helping fellow humans adjusting to changes big and small, experiencing anxiety, perfectionism and self-esteem issues, questioning sexual/gender identity, or struggling with disordered eating and/or body image. We will work together in a way that aligns with what you need at the time, whether that's coping strategies to manage daily stressors or a nonjudgmental space to process what's happened to you and figure out where you want to go from here. I will acknowledge how your identities (including LGBTQIA+, neurocomplexity, and disability) intersect with each other and the environment, and can help you know yourself better and become more self-empowered and self-compassionate.

To live is to suffer; to survive is to find meaning in the suffering (Neitzsche). We would never be able to experience our joy had we not of grown through our pain. GROWTH is the key component of findings ones true self. Be it feelings of anxiety, depression, or symptoms of PTSD, you CAN and WILL grow to be a better version of you when you take this journey of wellness. Exploration of ones self and mental toughness are key components to living a healthy and fulfilling life. Sometimes our past experiences, generational patterns, or our current thought patterns prohibit us from achieving greatness. I have over 15 years of experience I specialize with teens, young adults, and pro athletes. I am LGTBQI affirming. As a former Division 2 basketball coach, I enjoy working with college bound students and student athletes along with folks just experiencing stressors of everyday life. I have served as Director of 2 college counseling centers, and have worked in 5 others. I am only doing virtual appointments. I know the stress of being a student can be overwhelming, especially if you are also dealing with a mental health condition like depression or anxiety; a neurological difference like ADHD or autism; or a medical condition like an autoimmune disorder or chronic pain. I use humor, compassion, irreverence, and creativity to help you feel better and more empowered.

You may look like you have it all together yet inside you feel anxious, exhausted, or like you’re never “enough.” The need to be “perfect”, frequent memories of past traumatic experiences, or challenges navigating unfulfilling relationships may have left you feeling disconnected from yourself and who you believe you truly are. You want to feel present, more confident, and at peace with yourself - to stop just “surviving” and start healing. My approach is rooted in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness-based therapies, aiming to help release the emotional charge of painful memories while gaining greater self-awareness, compassion, and balance. Together, we’ll work to heal old wounds, quiet self-doubt, and cultivate a more grounded, fulfilling life. You don’t have to carry the weight of “having it all together” anymore. In doing the work, you can reconnect with your strength and rediscover peace within yourself. If this resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. Healing can begin with one courageous step.

I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), and a queer and non-binary person who uses they/them pronouns. I am also half-Taiwanese and half-White, neurodiverse and chronically ill. I love working with clients who don’t fit neatly into society’s pre-determined “boxes,” and are seeking to experience more enjoyment, fulfillment, and authenticity in their own lives – especially in terms of expressing themselves fully. This may involve experiences of gender, sexuality or perhaps a life transition such as career change, I’m open to all of it. Ultimately, I am curious about learning about people for who they are, and how they move through the world with whatever intersections of identity they may possess. My approach is grounded in anti-oppression and social justice principles and centered around the foundation of a genuine and compassionate therapeutic relationship with each and every client. I am here for the open acknowledgment of all that you have experienced, and all that you are, by providing plenty of space for both curiosity and reflection. In our work together, I will prioritize your autonomy, trusting you as the expert for you. Through a collaborative, non-judgmental, “as structured as you want it” approach, I am here to show up for you - to support you through your walk through life – however that may look like for you. I am trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and take a Strength-Based and Culturally Sensitive approach. I utilize Psychodynamic therapy and techniques and skills taken from other modalities as needed, as they apply to the work you would like to do in therapy.
