Therapists for college students near University of Colorado Boulder
I am originally from California, but have called Colorado (Denver) my home for the last thirteen years. While I do miss the ocean, I love being in the mountains and all they have to offer. When I am not working, I am often playing in my garden, doing something in the kitchen, spending time with friends and family, or traveling. I am the same person during session as I am outside of session; laid back, a little goofy, genuinely curious about others’ lives, and compassionate. I use she/her pronouns. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) and am licensed to see clients in Colorado, Indiana, Florida and Nevada. I have been practicing therapy since 2013 and truly enjoy working with my clients. I love learning about how trauma and stress can impact our minds, bodies and nervous systems and the ways we can heal and start to feel better. I am a Certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist as well as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). I often use a mixture of EMDR, Somatic Experiencing (SE), attachment, parts focused, and mindfulness techniques to help clients begin to unpack stressful or traumatic events and begin to integrate a sense of healing back into their minds and bodies. These techniques can be helpful for clients struggling with anxiety and depression symptoms, who have experienced one or more traumatic events, substance use, emotion regulation, or uncomfortable body sensations.
I help self-aware overthinkers break free from old patterns and learn to trust themselves more deeply. My clients are often insightful, motivated, and may have been in therapy before, but still find themselves stuck in cycles of overwhelm, self-doubt, people-pleasing, and overthinking. Through our work, you'll learn to trust your own voice, show up authentically in your relationships, and finally feel at home — koselig — in your own skin. Many of my clients grew up in homes where their physical needs were met, but their emotional experiences were minimized, dismissed, or misunderstood. As a result, they learned that their feelings were "too much" and became disconnected from their own emotional world. As adults, they often struggle with anxiety, rumination, self-trust, and maintaining healthy, authentic relationships. They may appear capable and self-aware on the outside while feeling disconnected from themselves on the inside. I believe many of the patterns that once helped you survive are now keeping you from fully being yourself. Rather than judging or fighting those patterns, we'll approach them with curiosity and compassion, helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been buried beneath fear, doubt, and old expectations. You don't need to keep abandoning yourself to belong. I'd love to journey alongside you as you come home to who you've been all along— and feel confident, connected, and koselig in your own skin.
College is usually sold as "the best years of your life," but for a lot of students, it feels more like a non-stop cycle of pressure. At Alpine Creek, we work best with students who are tired of pretending they have it all figured out. Most of our student clients come to us because they feel like they’re just "getting by" rather than actually living. What it often feels like: Constant Brain Fog: You’re physically in class, but your mind is stuck on your to-do list, your grades, or a conversation that went wrong three days ago. The "Social Battery" is Dead: Trying to find your place on campus or dealing with roommate drama is leaving you feeling more drained than connected. Relationship Stress: Whether it's a long-distance struggle or a new relationship here in town, you’re arguing more and feeling less understood. Heavy Weight: You might be carrying things from your past, like trauma or old family stuff, that feels like it’s getting heavier now that you’re on your own. The "What’s the Point?" Feeling: It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re dealing with deep sadness or an anxiety that won't let you catch your breath. How we help: We don’t do "clinical" or "stuffy" therapy. We provide a straightforward, safe space to just be a human. We help you look at the patterns that keep you stuck and give you actual tools to manage the panic, the low moods, and the relationship blowouts.

I would value the opportunity to be a part of your journey toward becoming your ideal self. I view therapy as collaborative and an opportunity to gain insight, skills, and growth. I strive to help people not only resolve their current problems but gain the confidence and skills to deal with challenges in the future. I am well-versed in tailoring empirically supported therapeutic approaches to suit the unique needs of my clients, no matter the concern. I have worked with a variety of client concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, injury recovery, interpersonal conflict, and life transitions just to name a few. I also have specific training and a passion for working with athletes, high performers, return to sport, injury recovery/management, TBIs, and chronic pain/illnesses. With a sport and performance psychology background, I often incorporate performance components in my work as I view performance elements not only occurring in sports but all areas of our life. I am a firm believer in the importance of training the mind and body. When in balance, they are capable of incredible feats. Just as you train your body, I will help you strengthen your mind to improve your overall wellbeing and chase your dreams! I am PSYPACT certified, meaning I can meet with clients in several other states (states that are PSYPACT members) and would be a good option for those frequently traveling. I also provide psychological testing/assessment for individuals who may have ADHD, learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, mood disorders, and personality disorders. All services are offered in person, remote, or hybrid options.
I enjoy the experience of witnessing my clients release traumatic events from their core. I know and understand, as I have been there myself, what it feels like to feel weighted down by events/emotions that are no longer in existence. I help my clients release these combinations of events and emotions that no longer serve them.

Authenticity is central to my work—I show up as my full self so you can feel safe doing the same. Whether you're a young adult navigating the pressures of school and relationships, a youth finding your footing at home, or someone facing anxiety or grief at any stage of life, you don't have to do it alone. I specialize in anxiety and grief across all ages, with a particular focus on supporting adolescents through the everyday challenges that can feel anything but ordinary. What you'll find in our work together is a space where you are seen, heard, and never judged. Authenticity guides everything I do, and my commitment is to show up for you with genuine empathy and compassion so that we can collaborate in a way that truly serves your needs and goals. Acceptance, empathy, and patience are at the heart of how I practice. Sessions are grounded in your experiences, your goals, and your pace, so that the direction of our work together always feels relevant to your life. Drawing on both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and person-centered care, I tailor my approach to meet you where you are, offering a compassionate, attentive environment where you feel supported every step of the way. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 25 years working in schools, and it was there I witnessed firsthand how many students were navigating real mental health challenges without adequate support. That experience became the turning point that led me to this work, deepening my dedication to person-centered care and reinforcing my belief that every patient deserves to be met with understanding and intention. The perspective I gained from those years in education shapes how I show up for you in every session. Family and exploration bring me a great deal of joy. Spending quality time with the people I love and traveling, whether that means discovering new destinations around the world or finding hidden gems across the U.S., keep me curious, grounded, and energized.
