Therapists for college students near University of Texas at Austin
I understand that every single person has been molded and formed by their environments around them. Sometimes, that leads us to being a person that we no longer want to be, which is when therapy can be helpful. In order for effective change to take place, therapy must be a safe and welcoming place in order for you to feel comfortable learning and discovering which route to take in your self-discovery journey. I prefer to be the passenger while you are in the driver’s seat telling me the route you want to take, and me helping you navigate the way to get there. I can’t promise that the journey will always be rainbows and sunshine, there will be tough truths and strategies that seem hard to implement, but the destination will be one that you have longed for and are ready to receive.
Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just not like yourself? Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship stress, or the feeling of never being “enough,” you don’t have to face it alone. If you’re navigating cultural expectations or life transitions, I’m here to support you. I’m Zarina (she/her/ella), a bilingual Latina therapist in Texas, offering culturally affirming therapy in both English and Spanish. I specialize in helping BIPOC, Latinx, Spanish-speaking, and LGBTQ+ clients manage anxiety, depression, trauma, explore their identity, and navigate relationship challenges. My approach is relational-cultural, person-centered, and trauma-informed. In our work together, I’ll bring in humor, somatic practices, yoga, EMDR, mindfulness, and psychoeducation to strengthen the mind-body connection. I also focus on building self-compassion and boundary-setting so you can prioritize yourself and create the balance you need. I know it’s not always easy to ask for help, and it takes a lot of courage to even get to this point. My hope is to be someone who really listens, meets you where you are, and gives you the space and support you need to start your healing.
Hi there—I’m Odira, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of experience guiding students and young adults through life’s twists and turns. I understand how hard it can be to fit therapy into a busy schedule, so I offer sessions only in the evenings and on weekends, whether we meet in person in Abilene, TX, or connect virtually across Texas and Colorado. Many students wrestle with anxiety, depression, stress, grief, and relationship ups and downs. That’s why I blend person-centered, holistic, and eclectic approaches to create a space that’s uniquely yours. You know your story best—I’m here to listen, offer fresh perspectives, and partner with you to build practical tools for navigating transitions, strengthening connections, and fostering growth. Over the years, I’ve led behavioral health teams and delivered therapy in community and clinical settings—experience that’s deepened my understanding of the pressures you face on campus and beyond. My passion is creating a warm, collaborative environment where you can explore your strengths, cultivate resilience, and gain clarity. Ready to get started during those after-work or weekend hours? You aren't broken or damaged, you're a hero who needs help on their quest. I specialize in working with teens and adults who struggle with anxiety, grief, chronic pain, and performance challenges. I help by integrating EMDR, Internal Family Systems, narrative, and strength-based therapies into a collaborative roadmap. In our first sessions, you can expect a thorough assessment, introduction to trauma-focused techniques like EMDR, and co-creation of a safe, strengths-focused environment. My practice is unique because I frame therapy as your hero’s journey, empowering you to harness resilience with evidence-based interventions. I’m Chad Starrak, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Questline Counseling. I specialize in trauma-informed therapy and EMDR, helping clients navigate anxiety, life transitions, burnout, and unresolved trauma. Whether you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for change, therapy offers a space to rediscover your inner clarity and direction. Each session opens a doorway—an invitation to journey inward, where forgotten truths and hidden strength reside. This isn’t a path to fix what’s broken, but to remember what’s sacred. Together, we’ll listen beneath the surface and follow the threads that lead you home to yourself.
I specialize in working with female students who are struggling with anxiety or stress. Maybe you are noticing burnout and feeling a lack of interest in classes, feeling stressed with upcoming exams, feeling anxious making new friends, or feeling completely overwhelmed by the sorority system at school. College or graduate school is meant to be an experience of self-discovery, but you may find yourself isolating, worrying, anxious, or overwhelmed. The pressure to excel academically, anxiety of moving away from home, the demands of coursework and deadlines, and the challenges of making new friends can all contribute to anxiety and stress and just feeling down. If you are looking to feel in control of your life again and get back to enjoying life, you have come to the right place! As someone who experiences anxiety myself and struggled to get into the groove of college, I I get it! I would love to support you in coping with any anxiety or stress you are currently experiencing to help you feel relief and get back that enjoyment of life! Please reach out today.
Hi, I’m Marie, and I’m so glad you found me. I’m here for the ones who’ve always felt a little different, a little out of place, the "oddballs" who don’t see themselves reflected in the world around them. Life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows, and I’m not going to pretend it is. But just because it’s hard doesn’t mean you’re powerless. My goal is to help you find your power- not by ignoring the darkness, but by showing you that you can still grow despite it. I want to help you believe in the possibility of happiness again, even if you’re not sure what that looks like right now. I’ve dedicated many years to learning how to support mental health, but the heart of my work is making you feel safe, seen and validated. I specialize in trauma and life transitions like finishing high school and starting college, changing careers, moving (to or around Texas), getting divorced, exploring gender identity, or navigating a breakup. If you’re feeling stuck, broken, or like you’ll never feel normal again, I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to be "normal" to feel whole. Together, we’ll navigate the mess and the pain, in a space where you don’t have to filter yourself or shrink to fit someone else’s idea of “okay.” If that sounds like what you're looking for, please reach out.

Through over 20 years of practice I have found that people usually seek therapy because they are experiencing something that is too difficult to bear without additional help and support. Life can seem unjust when bad things happen to good people, or when best efforts are not leading to desired outcomes. These challenges are opportunities for renewal and growth. Especially during a time of crisis or transition, the ability to safely connect and openly share thoughts and feelings, while receiving genuine emotional support, clarifying insights, and effective tools for coping can be truly life changing. This is the gift of therapy. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorders (such as OCD, tic disorders, hair pulling, skin picking and hoarding). I use evidence-based treatment models (ERP, HRT, CBT and EMDR). Research tells us that the therapeutic relationship is a critical factor in determining outcomes, so finding a therapist who is right for you is key. Call for a free 15 minute phone consultation so that you can interview me and decide if I'm a good fit.
