Welcome! I'm Alison Bankston, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship concerns, self-esteem, and stress. My background includes working in both school counseling and private practice settings, supporting individuals through some of life's most challenging seasons. I have experience working with veterans, adolescents, young adults, and individuals coping with grief, identity concerns, family conflict, and major life changes. My approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centered. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills while tailoring treatment to each client's unique needs and goals. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported as you work toward meaningful change. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, navigating a loss, or simply looking for a place to process life's challenges, I would be honored to walk alongside you in your healing journey.
When life feels like it’s spinning faster than you can keep up, it’s natural to feel stressed, stuck, or emotionally drained. Maybe you're waking up each day already exhausted, dreading what’s next. Life can start to feel like a relentless cycle of stress, disappointment, and emotional burnout. You might be wondering: Where do I even start? Who can I talk to that will truly understand? If this sounds like you, please know—you are not alone. As a therapist with over a decade of experience, I’ve supported individuals through some of life’s toughest moments. My clients often come to me feeling lost, disconnected, or simply tired of pretending everything’s fine. What they need most is a safe, nonjudgmental space to speak freely and be heard. That’s where our work begins. I create a space where you can be your authentic self—no masks, no pressure. I listen deeply and ask thoughtful questions to help you explore what’s going on beneath the surface. Together, we’ll uncover patterns, process emotions, and tap into tools that help you feel grounded, capable, and hopeful again. You deserve peace, joy, and a life you love. I offer a FREE 15 minute one time consultation. I have openings, book today.
After graduating in 2013 from the University of Houston - Clear Lake from the Marriage and Family Therapy program, I worked in the non-profit sector offering therapy services to both children and adults in the Houston area. I also have experience working in a school setting, and have a passion for working with teens and young adults. I am fully bilingual in both English and Spanish, and I am trained in different treatment modalities to help tackle problems with trauma, anxiety, and adjustment.
Solange is a Spanish-speaking Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner based in Texas. With over a decade of experience as a registered nurse, she has worked in various clinical settings from surgery to home health. For the past three years, Solange served as a Family Nurse Practitioner focused on pain management. Through this work, she recognized the interconnectedness of comorbid conditions and mental health. This inspired her to pursue post-master's training as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the University of Texas Rio Grande. In her practice, Solange strives for a holistic approach, addressing the full range of her patients' needs and treatment goals. For her clients, she provides the necessary time to discuss their concerns during initial and follow-up appointments. Her comprehensive yet compassionate approach benefits all her clients as she helps them improve their mental health and overall wellbeing. When not working, Solange enjoys gardening in the home she shares with her husband, reading fantasy novels and showing her dog in competitions. She is a person with strong family roots and as the daughter of immigrants, she appreciates the sacrifices her parents made to give her greater opportunities in life. For Solange, health, happiness, and family are inextricably linked, forming the foundation of a rich and meaningful life. Howdy! My name is A.B. and I’m a queer, nonbinary therapist born and raised right here in Texas. Don’t let the folksy exterior fool you: growing up in a small town taught me to treat strangers like family, to uplift and respect the folks around me, and, as my granddad always said, “If you can help ’em, then help ’em.” I’ve brought those values into my therapy work and left the bigotry and systemic oppression behind like the hogwash it is. I practice from a place of cultural humility, guided by the stories, strengths, and values my clients bring to the table. You’re the expert on your life, I’m just here to walk alongside you, bringing the tools I’ve got in my toolbelt to help you navigate whatever’s weighing you down. There’s nothing too big we can’t face together, and I trust that with you in the lead, we can work toward the outcomes you’re hoping for in therapy. I specialize in supporting clients through trauma, grief, mood disorders, LGBTQ+ issues, neurodivergence, identity exploration, crisis recovery, and relationship challenges. I also love working with children and their families around emotional regulation, school and family stress, and communication. I’ve got a soft spot for neurodivergent kids (and adults!) and bring a lot of energy and creativity into that work. In session, I pull from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT, ACT, solution-focused, narrative, and collaborative therapies, plus a lot more. So don’t be surprised if I throw in a little art-making, somatic work, or IFS (parts work) now and then. I’m committed to being a lifelong learner, and if something isn’t clicking, I’ll work with you to find what does. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University in 2023, and before that, I got my B.A. in Theatre Education. So I’m definitely open to getting creative in sessions, though just plain talkin’ is great, too. Outside of therapy, I love baking, storytelling in all its forms (theatre, concerts, poetry slams, and tabletop RPGs), and learning about folks whose lives are different from mine. I also enjoy spending time with my partner and our beloved pets Pip, Charlie, and Winston. If you think I might be the right counselor for you, I’d be honored to meet you. Feel free to email me at ab@vadacounseling.com or schedule a free consultation online.
Throughout life, we are constantly growing, changing, and evolving. Navigating these transitions can bring about uncomfortable feelings or challenge us to learn something new about ourselves. You may be a young adult learning how to live independently, a new parent, trying to start a family, looking for a career change, or just wanting to improve your current relationships. No matter what stage of life you are in, you are brave to look for support and I am glad you’re here. I believe working through and processing difficulties can bring hope, healing, and ultimately growth. I work to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space and to collaborate with clients helping them find their identity, their strengths, their passions and help to understand their value so that they reach their therapeutic goals. Ultimately my hope is that my clients, regardless of age, will reach a level of self-acceptance where they feel empowered and lead fulfilling lives with meaningful relationships.

I work with individuals and couples. Especially those who are POC, apart of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as people in nontraditional relationship or family structures. These folks are often those who are navigating identity exploration, societal pressures, relationship dynamics, & the constant overwhelm of modern life. I believe in creating the kind of place where people can be real, messy, and still be held with care. My approach is affirming, culturally responsive, and grounded in curiosity. I meet clients where they are, helping them feel seen, build self-trust, and foster more honest and connected relationships. Using body-based, community, & communication focused techniques, I help you reconnect with your authentic self. Rooted in social justice, our work blends open dialogue, hands-on exploration, and storytelling. Whether you're unpacking internalized narratives or navigating life transitions, I offer space to heal, grow, and connect with compassion & intention. Taking this step takes real courage, and I commend you for starting this journey of self-discovery. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can truly explore and grow. Please reach out today to schedule a free consultation, and let’s begin this journey together.
Hi, I'm Stephanie. I believe therapy should feel supportive, safe, and focused on what matters most to you. Together, we'll work at a pace that feels comfortable so you can move toward positive change.
The college experience is not what Hollywood would have you believe. In addition to being academically challenging, students often face other challenges such as learning how to navigate the logistics of life (such as making it to an 8:00 a.m. class!) without the oversight and structure of parents, learning how to establish new friendships, learning relationship skills, and finding balance in their lives. It can simply be overwhelming. You may just need a little help. I am an LCSW and have 30 years experience in the social work field and have spent the past 6 years providing mental health counseling with students in a university setting - my favorite population ever! I have worked with students dealing with adjustment to college, executive functioning, relationship issues and navigating helicopter parents. College students can find themselves experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD and sometimes this is the age when issues like bipolar disorder and schizophrenia arise. Sometimes past trauma begins to rear its ugly head and cause issues that need addressing. Asking for professional help can be scary; but can help you determine if you might just need some skills to help you better cope or if you have deeper issues going on. Just know that you are the one in control in counseling sessions - I can't insist you share more than you are ready to share or "make" you do anything you don't want to do! You are the boss! I would love to walk with you in your journey! This can be a very exciting time and we want you to make the most of the opportunity.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist and Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. For me, being a physician is more than a profession—it is a vocation to help indviduals flourish. My practice is devoted to students and young adults seeking thoughtful, individualized psychiatric care that extends beyond symptom relief. I provide comprehensive evaluations that consider medical, nutritional, lifestyle, and psychological factors—including laboratory testing when clinically appropriate—to identify the contributors to emotional and cognitive health. I also specialize in evidence-based de-prescribing for patients who wish to reduce or discontinue psychiatric medications for anxiety, attention difficulties, or substance use disorders. My approach is guided by precision, humility, and restraint: using the least intensive intervention necessary while drawing upon the full breadth of evidence-based medicine. Depending on each patient's needs and goals, I integrate psychotherapy, nutrition, lifestyle medicine, exercise, targeted supplementation, and, when appropriate, carefully selected medications into a personalized treatment plan. In addition to my clinical work, I have presented internationally on psychiatric deprescribing and medical ethics. My work has been recognized with awards from the American Psychiatric Association, the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions, the American Psychoanalytic Association, and other leading professional organizations. I am the Founder & Medical Director of Verigrate Health. I am licensed to serve patients in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Lousiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Washington, D.C., and Wisconsin.
Hi, I’m Zoe—a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and DBT-certified therapist, offering virtual therapy across Florida, Illinois, and Texas. I work with college students, especially young women, who feel anxious, misunderstood, or stuck in cycles of self-doubt, perfectionism, or unhealthy patterns. Classes, relationships, family stress, and the constant pressure to “have it all figured out” can leave you feeling overwhelmed. In therapy, you don’t have to perform or pretend you’re fine—you get a space to be real, vent, and start untangling what’s been weighing you down. ✨ You might relate if… You’re overthinking every text, email, or decision. You feel “different” or “too much” compared to your friends. You’re caught in cycles with food, body image, or relationships. You’re exhausted from trying to keep it all together. In our first session, we’ll slow things down. I’ll get to know your story, the challenges you’re facing, and what you’d like to change. You don’t need to have a plan—I’ll ask questions to help us explore your coping patterns, relationships, and what’s been hardest lately. This is a supportive space where you can share at your own pace—no pressure to open up before you’re ready. By the end, we’ll have a clearer picture of your goals and how we can work toward them. My goal is to make sure you feel heard, understood, and supported from the very beginning.

Are you feeling overwhelmed by pressure to perform, constantly overthinking, or worried about failing—even when you’re doing your best? I work with athletes who are navigating anxiety, burnout, identity challenges, and the stress of balancing academics, activities, relationships, and life transitions. Many of my clients are driven and capable, but feel stuck, stretched too thin, or unsure of who they are outside of achievement. I’m direct when it’s helpful, encouraging when you feel stuck, and focused on helping you build confidence, emotional balance, and resilience without sacrificing your well-being. Your first session is a low-pressure conversation where we’ll talk about what’s been weighing on you, what you want to change, and what support could look like. You don’t need to have the “right” words—just come as you are. Together, we’ll create a clear path forward so you can feel more grounded, confident, and in control of your life.
