Sunstone Psychatric is a mental and behavioral health clinic, specializing in dual-diagnosis medication management and psychotherapy. We also practice general psychiatry, including treatment for anxiety, depression, bipolar spectrum, trauma related disorders, OCD, and thought disorders. Our providers have attended or worked with students at Portland higher education institutions, including Reed College, Portland State University, and Lewis and Clark. Our practice is trauma-informed and client-centered.
We all come into therapy for different reasons. Some people may have specific challenges they are looking to overcome, while others may just need to explore why they feel the way they do. Both in relationships and as individuals, often we first feel the barriers in front of us before we really understand where they are coming from. Challenges in my own life and the very complexities of identity itself have profoundly shaped my empathetic approach to life. I see therapy as a conversation, and I am deeply committed to maintaining an open dialogue with you. I also recognize that you are the expert on your own lived experiences. I am here to support you in your journey of resilience, empowerment, and self-discovery. I provide a space where you can feel safe exploring gender and sexual identities, overcoming the stigma of addiction, understanding the impact of discrimination, overcoming depression, anxiety, trauma and other intersecting issues. My approach to counseling is based on a holistic person-centered philosophy that emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. As a therapist, my primary goal is to empower you to take control of your journey toward change, providing a safe and collaborative space where we can work together.
Are you struggling with transitioning into being a college student or an adult? New to Oregon or the US and not sure how to fit in? Need to work through trauma that is keeping you feeling stuck? I have spent over a decade working with teens, young adults and college students who struggle with everything from anxiety, depression, trauma or fitting into a new culture to time management, test anxiety and study skills. Together we will look at what is getting in the way of you living your best life and create a plan to get you back on track.
As a first generation immigrant, Vivien understands the pain of feeling stuck and not knowing where to start, when there is so much you want to achieve – whether it’s developing more rewarding relationships, making academic and career progression, healing from complex trauma, or gaining a sense of calm, confidence, and fulfillment as you navigate life in a complicated world. Vivien is a clinical psychologist who specializes in providing culturally responsive psychotherapy to adults, with a particular passion for supporting Asian American folks and folks with minoritized identities, college students and early career professionals aged 18 - 35. With Vivien, you are invited to enter a safe, inclusive, non-judgmental and collaborative space to more clearly understand yourself and how personal experiences and societal contexts have shaped you as you embark on a journey of growth and healing. I love working with young people as they get to know themselves, embark on new opportunities, and grapple with difficult emotional and relational challenges. Sometimes people notice that unresolved grief or trauma comes up for them during a life transition and I am here to support. I offer a welcoming, non judgmental space to talk through what is coming up for you. Change and healing is hard and you shouldn't have to do it alone.

Are you going through an unexpected change where there's a clear line between what life was like before and what it's like now? Are you struggling to understand this new reality? You might be telling yourself "I can't wait for things to get back to normal." This thought might be comforting but is actually keeping you from moving forward. Maybe you're holding onto old behaviors, relationships, or feelings that used to help. Whatever has changed, what you've been doing just isn't working anymore. You need someone that understands what you're going through and press pause to make sense of it all. At Springtree Counseling, I offer virtual individual and couples therapy for adults navigating grief, loss, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Through our work together, you'll learn new skills to better cope with and incorporate what's changed into your new normal. You don’t have to wait for the "right time" or until you have the right words before reaching out. I'm here when you're ready no matter where you're at in your journey. Book a free consultation today and we'll get started.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, working through a major life transition, or are simply looking for extra support, you’ve taken an important first step by looking into therapy. I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where we can work together to help you navigate challenges, strengthen coping skills, and move towards greater well-being. You deserve care that meets you where you are, and I’m here to support you. As a mixed therapist, with White (Italian & Irish) and Indigenous (Mi'kmaq) ancestors, I know how hard it can be to find time for self growth and care while navigating oppressive systems. It can be even harder when we don't fit in a binary or see ourselves reflected in the spaces we live, work, or learn. I value cultivating a safe container for folks to bring all parts of themselves to, as I believe that it is in this space of truly relating as we are, that we may find the capacity for growth and change. I reserve a few sliding scale spots for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC clients who are committed to therapy, but are experiencing cost as a barrier to care. If you would like to request a reduce rate slot, please contact me for details and availability.
I'm a provider with 16 years experience working with LGBTQIA+ adult clients. My work often involves supporting folks around gender, sexuality, and family of origin issues, among all the other things people seek therapy for. I am trained in two different types of trauma therapy (EMDR and Flash) that are less talk-therapy focused, for folks who need different ways to approach things.
You might be here because something inside you feels tangled, uncertain, or out of reach. Maybe you’re trying to navigate the weight of anxiety, low motivation, or a mood that shifts in ways you can’t always predict. Maybe you’re carrying grief, confusion around identity, or a deep sense that parts of your story haven’t been fully understood. Whatever led you here, there’s space for it and support as you navigate what comes next. I specialize in working with adults across Oregon who are navigating: - Anxiety, overthinking, or a persistent sense of unease - Depression or feelings of disconnection and emptiness - Bipolar disorder and emotional shifts that feel hard to manage - PTSD and the lingering impact of past trauma - Identity exploration, especially for queer and trans individuals - Grief, loss, and major life transitions - Relationship challenges and self-esteem concerns My approach is affirming, trauma-informed, and centered on helping you build insight and compassion for yourself and the systems that have shaped your experience.
*I am licensed in both Oregon and California, and can work with students who often travel between these two states.* When the difficult experiences from your past are still impacting you, it is hard to know what to do. You don’t feel like yourself anymore, and the people in your life are starting to notice. It’s coming out at school, in your relationships, in your mood. You might be thinking “I just want to move on with my life. Why can’t I just get over it already?” But no matter how many times you try to move on, you still feel stuck. You are not alone. I help people who have been through difficult childhood, sexual, and relationship experiences look at how their experiences have shaped them, and explore how to take back their lives from the memories that have burdened them for so long. Together, we will build a trusting relationship where you can feel safe enough to explore what happened in your life, the ways you have survived, and how to get unstuck so you can move toward a life that is ruled by you, and not by the past. I know reaching out to begin therapy can be an overwhelming experience. I offer a free 15-20 minute consultation, where you can share a bit about what you would like to work on, ask me any questions you may have, and we can determine whether I might be a good fit for your needs. Please feel free to visit my website to learn more and schedule a consultation. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

As a psychotherapist, you can also expect me to be patient, compassionate, curious, direct, and incredibly hilarious.
Helping Young Adults Feel Safe, Seen, and Understood You may be here because something just doesn’t feel right. Maybe your child is behaving in ways you don’t fully understand—or withdrawing in ways that concern you. Maybe your teen is struggling with anxiety, school pressure, or big emotions that feel too heavy for their age. Or maybe you’re a young adult trying to make sense of everything you’ve been through while figuring out who you are and where you’re headed. If any of that sounds familiar, I want you to know: it’s okay to ask for support, and you don’t have to figure it out on your own.
I specialize in working with college students experiencing anxiety and depression, but I also see clients for a wide variety of challenges, including perfectionism, procrastination, family and relationship concerns, self-esteem and shame. Additionally, I often work with clients with a diverse range of sexual orientations and gender identities, and with those in non-monogamous relationships. I aim to create a safe, accepting, and non-judgmental environment for you to experience and explore your feelings and all parts of yourself. Together we can find ways to help you feel better and live more fully, consciously, and comfortably. I will explore with you the impact of your past on your present, and help you to choose the future you want. By seeking therapy, you are already taking a courageous first step towards better living. Please contact me with any questions you have about my practice, or to request a free phone consultation to find out if therapy with me is a good fit for you.

Let's face it - our day-to-day lives can be difficult, stressful, and complex. So of course, we will be impacted on some level by the systems around us. It is a part of what makes us human! I truly believe that a deeper understanding our emotions and experiences can help us move through whatever we face. Having the skills and the community to help us navigate difficult moments is possible! It is truly an honor to be a part of that journey with clients. I utilize music with therapeutic intention to build resilience and empowerment. I also utilize talk therapy to connect with clients, offering a space for verbal processing and conversation. Adopting both a Relational and Systems Theory approach, I strive to meet the client where they are at in order to collaborate on treatment goals and interventions. Therapy can feel uncertain and overwhelming, especially at first. I commend you for doing your due diligence in researching and exploring your options. It is an absolute privilege and honor to be a part of this journey with you!

Have you ever had a moment, conversation, or even a look that gave made you feel felt? That felt sense of connection is what Resonance, LLC is based on. Too often, we are forced to stay on the surface level or simply don't know how to connect on a more meaningful level--perhaps because we were taught to; perhaps because of trauma; or maybe because we are afraid someone will abandon/make fun of/misunderstand us. Resonance is about feeling accompanied, being seen, heard, and mostly, felt, throughout the healing process.
"I am a failure." -"I am broken." -"I have nothing to offer." -"If I make changes, everyone will hate me." -"I can't change." ...Do these sound familiar? You've been trying to solve everything on your own but you're feeling stuck. You really need a space where you can talk through ALL of the jumbled up thoughts and feelings inside, because you're starting to feel like a pressure cooker. I'm a LGBTQIA+ and relationship affirming therapist specializing in trans and nonbinary wellness. I'm experienced with providing counseling to folks across the lifespan, and in and around the gender binary. I'm a staunch believer that all people have the resources inside themselves to make changes toward becoming ever more healthy, connected, and complex. The focus of my approach is self-acceptance. This means that I'm not going to push you to talk about things you're not ready to talk about yet. Instead, we'll make space for you to examine YOUR process toward making the changes YOU want in your life--because it's about damn time. And "I can't change" is, well, bullsh*t.
