As a doctoral-prepared, dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (trained at OHSU and UCSF), I offer personalized, holistic care that combines medication management with brief psychotherapy. Hi, I’m Amanda (she/her) I identify as white, cis gendered, middle-class woman. As someone with a great deal of privilege, I believe it is my job to make sure I understand my privilege through active learning, unlearning and holding space for others. I believe that we all have access to an inner knowledge that helps us overcome our challenges. I use several tools to help clients access this knowledge including talk therapy, art therapy, and regulation strategies, mindfulness and meditation practices based off client need and comfort level. My approach is relational, trauma-informed and strength-based. I work with clients where they are at on any given day. From there, we collaborate to build skills and resiliency. I work with teens, adults and families to help find resources within themselves. I work with many clients who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression and or difficulty in transition.
I work with queer and trans clients and offer individual counseling and gender support groups. I love supporting clients in their process of transition– into new identities, relationships, careers, and ways of relating to themselves and others. Everyone’s path of healing and growth is unique; I work together with my clients to find an approach that feels right for them, honoring their wisdom, strengths, and preferences. My style is integrative– drawing from narrative therapy, IFS, mindfulness, and self-compassion practices. I meet my clients with deep respect for their process and approach our work together with creativity, curiosity, warmth and an open heart.

Living with a mind that rarely slows down can make even ordinary days feel like a lot. When mental loops and daily frustrations take up so much of your energy, therapy can offer a space where you don't have to carry it all on your own. I specialize in supporting teens and adults with OCD, ADHD, and anxiety disorders in-person in Portland and virtually across Oregon. Together, we'll take time to understand what you're going through with curiosity and compassion. From there, we'll shape therapy around who you are and what you need so daily life can begin to feel more manageable. You're a person first, and therapy should make room for everything that makes you, you! I tailor our work to your needs and draw from evidence-based approaches like ACT, CBT, ERP, and Motivational Interviewing. I'll explain the why behind what we do and share tools openly so you always feel informed and involved as we move through the process together. I strongly believe therapy should be a collaborative process where your perspectives, experiences, and feelings matter at every step along the way. If you'd like to explore working together, I'd be glad to take that first step with you.
At Rose City Psychological Center, LLC we believe all people have an inherent right to the services, resources, knowledge, and opportunities that allow us to be the directors of own lives. Our therapeutic approach strives to shed light on ingrained patterns of thoughts, values, and behaviors. By making the unconscious conscious, we disrupt the cycles that keep us stuck in unhealthy or unsatisfying relationships and routines.

I love working with individuals and couples from varied backgrounds, especially BIPOC, historically marginalized, immigrant, and LGBTQIA+ identities. I support clients facing anxiety, depression, negative self-talk, grief, loss, abuse, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, or self-worth issues. I'm passionate about helping you break old patterns, develop emotional regulation skills, and set healthy boundaries that honor your needs. If this resonates, then know you are not alone.
I provide individual therapy to people ages 18 and up. I specialize in working with queer and trans people, pot-stirrers, and outsiders. I enjoy working with people who are confronting major identity shifts, people who are navigating issues with their families of origin, and people who are trying to envision a future they never imagined themselves in (What is middle age? What is aging in queer spaces? How can I live meaningfully in late stage capitalism?).
I hope to support you on your journey toward healing. I believe people have strength to endure life's challenges, and hold the wisdom within to nurture wounds and thrive. I bring over a decade of experience working with children, adults and families, where I served people with needs including anxiety, depression, exposure to trauma, life transitions and more. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My therapy style is strengths-based, collaborative and compassionate, with a sense of humor and creativity. I desire to nurture strong attachments, support individual goals for wellness, and enhance meaningful connections. If you woke up tomorrow and your life was exactly how you wanted it to be, what would be different? Maybe you’re feeling stuck and weighed down by the past, and you want to be unburdened and able to move forward with your life. Perhaps you want to manage stress better, improve relationships, or feel less depressed and worried. You may want support around uncertainty, grief, anxiety, or fear related to the world around you, with concerns related to discrimination, politics, or the future of our country and world. Whatever you are facing right now, therapy can be a powerful tool for creating meaningful and lasting change. I support clients in healing from past pain and lessening its impact on life now using EMDR and other modalities. My approach is integrative and personalized. With warmth and authenticity, I collaboratively work with clients to put the past in the past, create healthier patterns, live more fully, and move forward with greater freedom.
I work dynamically and intuitively with a focus on mind body awareness. I combine my knowledge from natural medicine, energy healing, authentic relating, social justice work, ecofeminism, conscious philosophy, yoga, meditation, nonviolent communication, to serve in a holistic and transpersonal approach. I believe that we are all whole and complete. I believe learning is remembering. I believe that each person deserves to be seen, heard, held and loved. I have worked intimately with the concepts of being and belonging. I take into account systemic issues and intersectionality with every client I work with. Some of these populations include: LGBTQI+, BIPOC, Buddhist contemplative, kink/sex positive, body positive communities. I have also worked intimately with survivors of domestic abuse, those dealing with codependent tendencies, eating disorders, chronic illness/pain, developmental trauma and grief. Overall, I work best with those who are curious about being more in their bodies and are dedicated to the growth and learning process.

Feeling foggy or like you're in a dream (in a bad way)? Feeling detached from your body or your joy? At the risk of sounding like an infomercial, I'm passionate about helping clients feel more present, embodied, and connected whether they're experiencing grief, dissociation (depersonalization or derealization), or burn out. I work best with folks who are motivated to put in work inside and outside of session in order to inch closer to change. There is so much to grieve in the world right now but I'll be alongside you to sit in the messy feelings and cheer on your wins. I use experiential (creative) and somatic (body-focused) techniques for additional ways of processing grief, loss, or disconnection. Experientially, we might write, make art, use music, or create a tangible coping tool you can use. Somatically, this might mean grounding exercises, movement, guided visualizations, or just pausing and noticing the body. Your healing process is important and I don’t believe in taking away coping mechanisms that have allowed you to survive until now. Instead, the idea is to explore different options to help you sift through complicated situations or feelings and help you evaluate what's no longer serving you. Reach out if we might be a good fit. I'd love to hear from you!
