Therapists for college students near New York University
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a degree in Mindfulness-based Transpersonal Counseling from Naropa University, in Boulder, Colorado. Mindfulness informs all aspects of my work, including my emphasis on creating a space of compassion and curiosity in which we can explore, experiment, and journey together. You can't do anything "wrong" in therapy; everything that happens can be mined for wisdom. I have primarily worked with people to address issues related to anxiety, depression, self-concept, and life transitions. I see therapy sessions as a balance between processing and skill-building, in which there is enough open space to explore and also enough direction to come away with concrete action steps to create the desired change. In addition to mindfulness, I have training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I frequently guide my clients in getting to know and work with "parts" of themselves. I bring a trauma-informed approach to all sessions, in which safety, empowerment, and self-compassion are held paramount. For trauma-specific work, I utilize my training in EMDR therapy to provide targeted interventions designed to desensitize and reprocess traumatic experiences in the brain. Above all else, I hold a steadfast hope for the ability of each and every person to heal and grow. It is truly an honor and privilege to join my clients in that journey.
I specialize in supporting young adults and college students struggling with trauma, C-PTSD, interpersonal concerns, and anxiety. I find having a deep understanding of your own story helps you to feel more secure in your identity, equipped to face your challenges, and grounded in your life. Getting to know your story in all its messy, beautiful, and complicated parts is where our therapeutic relationship will begin. I utilize an integrative approach to counseling using Internal Family Systems Theory (IFS), Person-Centered, Realtional, Psychodynamic, & Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Based on how our relationship develops, I will pull from these theories to best support our work together depending on your needs. Through these modalities, we can help you stand authentically in your story, in all of its parts, and feel empowered in continuing it. Sharing your life with a stranger can feel vulnerable, risky, and uncertain. My goal is to help you feel, heard, seen, and empowered in the counseling space so that I can meet you where you are and help you attain your goals.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who helps students and young adults find steadier ground. I specialize in trauma and have worked directly with college students, including those facing prejudice on campus and communities navigating crisis. My style is warm and judgment-free, and I use evidence-based tools including CBT, DBT, and EMDR alongside trauma-informed care and skills for building safety, so you leave sessions with more than just a place to vent. It's getting more and more difficult to resist your compulsions. You're getting upset with yourself for not having enough "willpower." You're having frightening thoughts about yourself and others. Thoughts that scare you or contradict your values and who you are as a person. You experience self-hate every time you give into a compulsion. You're exhausted by your own mental and/or physical compulsions. You struggle to trust yourself and often experience shame surrounding your thoughts. You keep it all to yourself because you fear that others will judge you or betray you. Simultaneously, you need emotional support more than ever. My clinical training includes a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University and a master's degree in Clinical Social work from Hunter College. I utilize ERP, the gold standard for OCD, CBT, and solution-focused therapy. I also provide mindfulness tools to help clients increase awareness around behaviors. I work collaboratively with my clients, using my clinical background and their knowledge of self and am grateful to witness them transform into versions of themselves that they never thought were possible. It is a privilege to be allowed into the minds and hearts of my clients. I welcome you to reach out for a free consultation to see if we're a good fit.

My clients are often deep feelers, over thinkers, and high achievers such as students, clinicians, creatives, adoptees, BIPOC, and first generation individuals who are navigating identity, relationship dynamics, responsibilities, anxiety, depression, overwhelm, burnout, trauma, or systemic stressors. They are often masking or silencing parts of themselves to meet expectations. They want support, clarity, and autonomy to show up fully both in therapy and in their everyday lives. I offer unique understanding of intersectionality rooted in lived experience and aim to provide culturally and trauma-informed care. I've supported youth and families in schools, camps, and community centers facing trauma, crisis, abuse, neglect, grief, loss, immigration issues, displacement, and second language challenges for over a decade. I've trained clinicians, staff, and supervised interns in crisis intervention, SEL, and case management. With a long-standing dedication to human development, attachment theory, and a gathered knowledge of specific cases, treatments, and approaches, I am committed to client-centered care tailored to each individual's needs. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to carry so much while trying to hold it all together. I offer a compassionate, supportive space where your full self, voice, and unique form of expression are honored. My eclectic professional and cultural background helps me build rapport and join with people from all walks of life, young and old.
