Have you ever felt isolated or like no one truly understands you? If so, know that you’re not alone in these experiences, and I’m here to listen and support you. My name is Elvis, a second-year master’s degree student in the Social Work program at Montclair State University. I also received a BA in Psychology, with a double minor in Child Advocacy & Policy, and Social Work. I identify as a heterosexual, hispanic male. In our sessions, we’ll work together to develop customized strategies that support your emotional well-being, help you manage any psychological challenges, and enhance your daily life. We’ll focus on creating practical tools tailored to your needs, such as self-care routines, mindfulness practices, and grounding techniques, to help you navigate new stressors and experiences. We may also explore past or present traumas, childhood experiences, or current situations that are affecting your day-to-day life, aiming to provide you with a comprehensive and personalized approach to healing and growth. My theraputic approach is grounded in the psychodynamic, CBT, and DBT theories. I strive to create a comfortable environment where you can express yourself openly. Together, we’ll work on identifying what’s going on in your life and develop practical strategies to help you manage and overcome obstacles. My goal is to make our sessions straightforward and relatable, without any confusing jargon. Elvis Auqui is a therapist-in-trainging at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapists-in-training accuring clincial hours.
My name is Daniel, and I am a first year master's student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Queens College. I earned a BA with a double major in Psychology and Religion from Vassar College. In therapy, my focus is on fostering an environment of collaboration, authenticity, and self-exploration. I incorporate a variety of techniques grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centered therapy, existential therapy, and mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy (M-CBT). Together, we’ll explore what matters most to you—your values, your needs, and your goals—and work to develop strategies that align with your unique path. Whether we are addressing emotional regulation, relationship challenges, or existential questions, my aim is to help you cultivate skills and insights that enhance your resilience and day-to-day functioning. My therapeutic approach is both integrative and individualized, drawing from evidence-based practices tailored to your needs. In an ACT framework, we might explore how to embrace and coexist with challenging emotions while aligning actions with your core values. From a person-centered lens, I prioritize empathy, unconditional positive regard, and creating a nonjudgmental space for your growth. Through existential therapy, we can dive into deep questions of meaning, purpose, and identity. Additionally, mindfulness techniques may help you ground yourself in the present moment and reduce the impact of distressing thoughts. For me, therapy is more than a profession; it is a collaborative and deeply human journey, a journey that I would be honored to undertake with you. Daniel Roitburt is a therapist-in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapists-in-training accruing clinical hours.
Melissa Broughton is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who has a diverse range of clinical experiences across all levels of the mental health system. Being a woman from a multicultural background, I understand the complexities of navigating multiple identities including race, culture, religion, gender, sexuality, class, and ability. With a unique blend of Caribbean and Middle Eastern heritage, my approach to counseling is enriched by the diverse tapestry of experiences that shape individuals. Together we will delve into how your unique intersectionality shapes your world. My goal is to provide a safe, genuine, and non-judgmental space for your personal growth and healing. I received a B.S. in Psychology at Northeastern University and M.A. in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at NYU. I further honed my skills through rigorous training. I have experience working with individuals from various backgrounds, ages, and diagnoses experiencing issues around trauma, race, gender, sexuality, depression, anxiety, and more. I tailor my approach to suit the unique needs of each client. By integrating techniques such as CBT, trauma-informed therapy, and psychodynamic therapy, I aim to empower clients in their journey toward self-discovery and resilience. Through exploring patterns, feelings, and history we will work together to design strategies to improve your overall wellbeing.
I BELIEVE THAT EACH PERSON is a mosaic of experiences, identities, and values and I will tailor our work to your unique needs and goals. I am attentive to your story as an individual or couple as well as broader cultural and sociopolitical dynamics that may impact your experience. I am collaborative and not mysterious - I will share my thinking with you, explain what I believe you may find helpful and why, and welcome your feedback on what is and is not working for you. I WILL DRAW UPON MY TIME studying biology at Harvard to consider and share with you how biological elements such as sleep science, nutrition, stress response, and more may be impacting your wellbeing. I also am happy to discuss how your sexual health intersects with physical and emotional health, and have several years of experience in sex and relationship counseling. If you struggle with any aspect of sex ranging from desire, arousal, accessing pleasure, self-consciousness, or trauma, I am here to acknowledge the taboos around sex in our society, provide a space for open conversation individually or as a couple, and help you get what you want out of your sexuality and sex life. MY CLINICAL STYLE prioritizes validation and fostering a safe environment to navigate vulnerable topics together. Many people tend to invalidate their own emotions - if this sounds like you, I will support you in developing kinder self-talk and holding space for your feelings. We will uncover insight into why you may be stuck in certain patterns or cycles that are not serving you as an individual or in a relationship and use this knowledge to build new ways of moving forward and living your life how you want to. WE WILL REFLECT ON what gives you fulfillment and how to create a life full of meaning and enjoyment. At the same time, we will explore different tools, including somatic methods and emotional skills, that you can use to reduce stress, and anxiety, reshape negative thinking, improve tension-filled relationships, and overall work towards being happier, healthier, and more productive. We may think of the mind as something intangible, but it lives in the body. By learning to support your mental processes and physical well-being, you can achieve balance and peace. No matter where you are on this journey, I will meet you there and support you.

I practice from a relational and humanistic perspective, ensuring that our work together is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs. Our work together will be strengths-based, helping you to recognize and build on your inherent resilience. I am dedicated to providing an LGBTQ+ affirming and anti-oppressive space, where all aspects of your identity are welcomed and celebrated. Supporting individuals with their relationships, body image, and queer identities is at the core of my work. This includes working with folks with eating disorders or disordered eating, body image challenges, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and navigating gender identity and sexual orientation.
The students I work best with often share a desire to feel understood, supported, and empowered as they navigate college life, especially when their path doesn’t look like everyone else’s. I work with a wide range of college students including international students, first-generation college students, students from diverse cultural and racial backgrounds, as well as both traditional and nontraditional students. What they often have in common is that they’re carrying a lot, whether it's pressure to succeed, cultural or family expectations, feelings of anxiety, questions about identity and belonging, or simply the stress of trying to figure out who they are and what comes next. In our work together, we create space to explore these experiences without judgment. If you’re a student who’s juggling multiple roles, feeling out of place, or simply looking for support during a major life transition, you’re not alone and you don’t have to do it all on your own.
Whether you’re navigating issues of identity, family dynamics, discrimination, mental health challenges such as anxiety or depression, or trauma, I’m here to walk with you in a way that honors your lived experiences. Together, we can explore strategies that help you heal, grow, and build resilience. My approach is grounded in creating a safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental environment for all individuals, especially those from marginalized communities. I understand that unique cultural factors, identity struggles, and social pressures can impact your mental health, and I’m here to provide support that respects and affirms your experiences.
Therapy works by creating an open and non-judgmental environment for clients to begin reflecting on their experiences. By bringing an authentic and empathic approach to therapy, Peter helps clients explore and access parts of themselves that they may have been closed off to in the past. By exploring past experiences and working creating positive change in the present day, therapy can help increase a client’s ability to navigate relationships, understand their emotions and advocate for themselves. Peter works primarily from psychodynamic and emotion-focused approaches. He believes that relationships form the core of our experiences, and as such, the therapeutic relationship is one of the greatest tools of therapy. Peter strives to bring his authentic self into the therapy space as a way of helping his clients do the same. Peter completed his internship at Fordham University's Counseling & Psychology Services, and has extensive experience working with students and young adults. He completed additional psychodynamic training at the Kull Initiative for Psychotherapy, where he continues to work as a therapist, supervisor, and Associate Clinical Director.

Thank you for reviewing my profile and see if we could be a good fit! My experience includes working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, self-esteem, and relationship issues. Additionally, I work with many clients dealing with career or school related stress. Prior to my work as a Mental Health Counselor, I worked in the corporate world of fashion, which gave me a deep understanding of how a fast-paced and demanding work environment can affect one’s well-being. I believe the most important factor is the relationship between myself and my clients. A genuine, trusting relationship is so critical for this work. My initial training was at Northwestern University, and was centered in a psychodynamic approach; however, I have additional training in, Mindfulness, EMDR, CBT, and IFS approaches. This allows me to pull from multiple techniques to do what is best for each client and their goals. I work collaboratively with individuals. I want to hear your input as we devise a plan on how to reach your goals. You can expect me to check in often on how you feel therapy is going, and use feedback to help modify our approach as needed. Looking forward to meeting you and seeing if we could be a good fit!
