Perhaps you have been feeling held back by unhelpful thoughts and feelings (worry, doubt, self-criticism) that get in the way or prevent you from living in the present moment. Or maybe you keep engaging in the same patterns of behavior over and over again, rather than moving toward the things you care about most. We partner with our clients to help them find new ways to navigate anxiety, OCD, low mood, and difficult life transitions. Our approach is focused on what is happening in the present while also honoring how your past experiences and identities shape where you are today. We use evidence-based treatments backed by science (including CBT, ACT, Exposure and Response Prevention) to help you reduce suffering and respond more flexibly to life’s many challenges. If you are exhausted by your obsessions, badgered by your inner critic, or trapped in anxious thought loops, you have come to the right place. You may be in a place in your life where you have noticed patterns of behavior that you would benefit from changing in some way. You may have contemplated these areas and feel like you have an understanding of when these issues arise and what has caused them, but are unsure of what you can do to address them. Perhaps you’ve found it difficult to communicate your wants and needs in certain situations. Or maybe you’ve realized that your methods of coping are neither the healthiest nor most helpful for dealing with distress. You may have even noticed that your relationships have fit into a pattern that you are now dissatisfied with. I am here to help you finally transition from reflection action. Working with me, you will work on figuring out the tangible steps you can take to improve what you would like to improve in your life. I will help you refine a skillset that will help you ensure that you are meeting your own needs while also nurturing those positive relationships in your life. As a queer, non-binary clinician, I also recognize the unique ways those of us in the LGBTQ+ community may identify and live our lives, and as such will help to ensure that the skills you build affirm your lifestyle. If this sounds of interest to you, please do not hesitate to book a free fifteen minute consultation with me today so you can begin growing.
Hi, I’m Megan! I’m a licensed therapist in New York, New Jersey, and North Carolina who helps people feeling burned out, anxious, or stuck in survival mode reconnect with balance and purpose. Many of my clients come to me after feeling overwhelmed by work, relationships, or the constant pressure to keep going — even when they’re running on empty. I create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, make sense of what’s been weighing on you, and learn healthier ways to cope. My style is compassionate and collaborative — I meet you where you are and help you build practical tools for stress, boundaries, and self-care that actually fit your life. Before starting my private practice, I worked in behavioral health settings supporting individuals living with substance use, bipolar disorder, and other chronic mental health conditions. That experience taught me that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all — and that real change happens when therapy feels safe, personalized, and empowering. If you’re ready to move from burnout to balance, I’d love to help you take that next step.

Rise to change your story is a mental health practice based in New York City which provides mental health services to individuals, couples and families struggling in their relationships with themselves, others and/or with money/spending. Rise to change your story emerged from our belief, that we make meaning of our life, victories and struggles through the stories we live out, the stories we internalize about ourselves and the ones we share when we interact with others. Our life stories emerge, are shaped (and also limited) by our social, cultural, familiar and interpersonal contexts. We all learn the standards by which we measure ourselves and each other through the stories we see and hear, and by the stories we tell each other. We believe that during difficult times in life, we tend to be more vulnerable and we have a sense of being stuck in stories that usually restrict the possibilities we perceive for a better life. There is nothing wrong with us for that. Sometimes we manage to figure things on our own but sometimes we don’t. It happens. We cannot possibly have all the solutions for all the challenges we encounter, and therapy is one way to figure things out in the context of a supportive environment where you can further explore different options that you may have not considered. Our work is based on helping people explore and experience some alternative story lines that may already exist in their lives or may have existed, but have been forgotten or overshadowed. In our practice our mission is to support you to rise and change your story. A story with themes and plots that are more satisfying, more fulfilling, more empowering and more aligned with what matters the most to you. We believe such stories are always there if we look for them. We believe TODAY IS THE DAY TO RISE AND CHANGE YOUR STORY.

PSYCHOTHERAPY SERVICES: Rebecca’s clinical focus is on helping adult female identified dancers develop healthy relationships with their bodies and food. She guides clients in reconnecting with their bodies, often using the process of “embodiment,” a multilayered awareness of your body and how you connect to or relate to the world around you. Through the holistic practices of mind- body awareness, Rebecca educates her clients on how their emotions may sometimes be reflected through physical symptoms, often called psychosomatic symptoms. Working with Rebecca, clients also receive guidance on eating in a self attuned way to manage disordered eating behaviors. She works from the Health at Every Size (HAES) perspective and helps clients understand the internal and external factors that contribute to disordered eating, body image issues and problems with self esteem. Dancers are always on display, whether taking recreational classes at the studio or at rehearsal and especially during performances. Outside of the dance world, there’s the everyday societal expectations of how our bodies should be. Rebecca is familiar with the unique challenges dancers face on and off stage. PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT COACHING FOR PERFORMING ARTISTS: Contact Rebecca for more information. With her background in Applied Sports and Performance Psychology, Rebecca offers individual and group coaching sessions to adult dancers. Coaching sessions are available to help dancers of all levels achieve improved overall performance, using mental skills training. Coaching is separate from health care service.
