TriBeCa Therapy is a center for psychotherapy that was founded on the assumption that human beings are original, imaginative, inspired, and inventive. We particularly love our work with young adults and college students and are connected to issues they deal with. Issues related to sex and dating, drugs and drinking, depression and anxiety and academic pressures aren’t topics that will freak us out. We can handle it. College students frequently discuss with us challenges such as: making friends in ways that don’t involve alcohol, making friends as a person of color, navigating social situations that demand connecting with strangers (like in the cafeteria) and finding “their people.” We work to create a partnership that takes these challenges on together, trying new strategies, taking increasingly bigger risks and dealing with the disappointments and celebrating the successes that follow. College is a time when many young adults are dealing with very adults issues like sex, sexual assault, eating disorders, substance abuse, managing money, race, class, and career choices. Creating a space where young adults feel comfortable talking about these issues is a strength of our therapists and a non-judgmental stance is key. The object isn’t to insist on a particular set of values or practices, but to support young people to understand what they are dealing with and to make active choices about who they want to be. I specialize in and have helped many people suffering with complex trauma, grief/ loss and relationship issues- all of which can manifest as anxiety and depression, among other paralyzing symptoms. I'll draw on my multi-modal training and diverse clinical experience to help provide relief to you. It does get better, and I can help guide you there. Specializing in trauma work, I am proud to have many years of experience in the LGBTQ communities and take pride in offering a non-judgmental, sex positive, affirmative space to talk about queer identities and sexualities. If you've ever felt "othered," be it by race, class, gender or sexuality, I welcome your experience and actively create a safe space for all parts of you to be heard. Many of my patients are college and students dealing with the unique and particular pressures of student life. It's my greatest honor and pleasure skilfully and thoughtfully listen and work to meet you where you are, as we embark on this journey of feeling better and growth, together.

Welcome! I’m really glad you’re here. Taking the first step toward seeking support is one of the most important decisions you can make, and it’s one that shows great strength. Life’s challenges can often leave us feeling overwhelmed or stuck, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Together, we can focus on understanding how certain patterns of thinking and behavior may be contributing to your stress, anxiety, or low mood. You will gain insight into how these patterns impact your day-to-day life and learn practical tools to make meaningful changes. My approach is rooted in helping you develop skills that you can apply in real time to manage difficult emotions, reduce distress, and regain a sense of control. The goal is to work collaboratively, identifying specific strategies that empower you to shift your perspective, break negative cycles, and move forward with greater resilience and clarity. If you’re ready to create lasting change and build a life with more balance and peace, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Clinical Social Work/Therapist

My name is Savi and I’m a licensed clinical social worker in private practice. I have a particular interest in working with students as much of my clinical experience is in working with people in their teens and early 20’s who are going through the big life changes that happen at these times. There is so much to navigate during this time in life with academic demands, becoming more independent from our families, and starting new relationships. There are many reasons we are drawn to start therapy, but I find it is often because we are struggling with difficult feelings related to these things that we may not understand and don’t know how to get rid of. I think it’s important that you have a safe place to talk about these feelings and for us to begin to understand what is underneath them.

At the heart of my work is the belief that growth begins when we turn inward; not only to solve problems, but to truly listen. Beneath stress, self-doubt, and burnout is often a quieter call for balance, meaning, and wholeness. In our sessions, I’ll invite you to slow down, tune in, and reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been overshadowed by deadlines, expectations, or the pressure to achieve. My approach blends psychodynamic and somatic (body-centered) therapy to explore both your inner world (unconscious patterns, images, and beliefs) and the lived experience of your body, where insight and change can take root. I’m LGBTQIA+ affirming and work with students navigating anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, creative blocks, identity questions, and challenges with eating and body image, relationships, self-worth, or belonging. I’m particularly drawn to working with artists and creatives. What matters most to me is creating a space that is open, safe, and judgment-free; a space where you can explore who you are, discover your own meaning, and move toward a life that feels both authentic and sustainable.
