As a queer Asian-American Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), I specialize in supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, particularly LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities, as they navigate questions around gender, sexuality, relationship dynamics, and life transitions. I believe that every person deserves access to care and an environment where you can truly be heard. Together, we learn to lean into discomfort as we explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, with the goal of helping you feel more grounded, connected, and understood in your life and relationships. I prioritize culturally responsive, HAES-informed, anti-oppressive, and anti-racist care, so that you feel respected and empowered throughout our work. I am committed to creating a safe, affirming space where you can engage in authentic self-exploration and meaningful growth. My approach is trauma-informed and integrative, drawing from Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, existential therapy, and Mindfulness-informed somatic practices to support you in processing lived experiences and deepening emotional insight. Grounded in collaboration and compassion, this work centers on your unique values and personal story, while honoring autonomy and resilience. My work is informed by my identity as a lesbian and first-generation Japanese American. This perspective enables me to create an environment where people feel seen, understood, and supported, with care that is grounded in a deep respect for identity, culture, and lived experience. When I’m not helping patients, I stay balanced through a wide variety of hobbies, including reading, cooking and trying new restaurants, dancing, working out, crafting, traveling, and snowboarding.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, my work is rooted in creating a therapeutic space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, the weight of trauma, cultural or racial identity concerns, life transitions, or relationship challenges, you don't have to face it alone. With a particular passion for supporting BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, my practice is designed to be inclusive and affirming for all patients, and especially meaningful to those who haven't always felt centered in their care. Our work together is genuinely collaborative, because healing happens best when you're an active part of the process. Bridging that gap, together, is what I'm here for. From the moment we begin working together, you can expect a space that is warm, nonjudgmental, and tailored to who you are. No two people carry the same experiences, backgrounds, or goals, and your care shouldn't look like anyone else's. Drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness, my approach is integrative, person-centered, and always collaborative. My style is kind yet purposeful: together we'll work toward recognizing your needs and building the practical tools to meet them. Guiding you toward the support and strategies that help you thrive is what drives every session we share. My path to becoming a therapist began in research. Working as a research coordinator, I found myself consistently drawn to the deeper stories behind the data, and to the real concerns people in our studies were carrying with them. It became clear that being a therapist was the right fit, the place where I could do the most meaningful work. That background in research and community mental health shapes how I practice today. It gave me a unique lens for understanding how large-scale societal and structural forces ripple down and affect individuals in very personal ways, and a commitment to integrative, community-rooted care that I bring to every session. Outside of the therapy room, you'll find me soaking up a Broadway show, getting lost in a good book, or somewhere out in the world on my next travel adventure. Water has always been a source of joy for me, whether that means snorkeling, diving, or simply swimming. Lately, I've been diving into new creative outlets as well, teaching myself embroidery and showing up to Pilates class regularly. They've become my favorite way to reset between sessions and return to the work feeling fully present for you.

Therapy is a powerful tool for reflection and change. Whether working with teens or adults, my approach is insightful and exploratory, helping clients uncover unconscious patterns. Sometimes, we become stuck in painful or unsatisfying ways of being and need a safe space to learn, heal, and grow. I commonly work with issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, life transition, and relationships. In our work together, I help clients understand the impact of past experiences on the present, with a focus on the here-and-now. I also incorporate breathing and mindfulness practices to help manage everyday stress.

College is hard enough already - you don't need to let past experiences make it even harder. If you can't stop thinking about certain memories, or people, or pain that you have suffered, you might be burdened by trauma. You might also feel unsafe in particular places, or even in your own body. Feeling this way on a day to day basis is exhausting. Know that you can heal from the discomfort that you are experiencing right now. We can work together to help you feel more at ease on a day-to-day basis. Then, when you're ready, we can dive a little deeper into understanding what happened to you. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey of growth, healing, and self-love. There are times when we ask ourselves questions we feel we have no answers to: "Why am I not happy?", "How do I improve my life?" and "Will I ever find a solution to this problem that is consistent and stressful?". Have hope! The answers are there inside of you, waiting to be discovered. I strive to support my clients without judgement, challenging those who are ready to explore themes of personal responsibility, meaning, and resolution. Through genuine client/therapist interactions, the emotional impact of trauma, loss, depression, and/or anxiety can be relieved, and answers found. I have a wide range of experience in helping those who may be suffering from anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions. Working with older adolescents to older adults, I find that combining a person-centered therapy model with CBT, Gestalt, and Mindfulness interventions can be especially helpful. It is my belief that therapy should be an experience of thoughtfulness, reflection and discovery. In-the-moment therapeutic experiments, music therapy, and artistic mindfulness are all tools that can be used to stir the creative process towards finding the answers one is looking for, and the journey thereafter.

I have worked with people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including trauma, eating disorders, OCD, relationship struggles, and academic stress. I am attuned to the role oppression plays in my patients' lives and am LGBTQIA+ affirming. I enjoy working with students, artists and people with creative practices, those undergoing life transitions, and people seeking to understand intergenerational sources of suffering. My style is warm and nonjudgmental. I am guided by the belief that each person contains inherent strengths and knowledge, and that a primary goal of treatment is to allow for the expression of this unique experience. In our work together, we will move between past and present to understand what it’s like to be you. We will look carefully at your struggles, as well as how you love and dream. This diligent attention to your experience can result in satisfying and often surprising changes in personal, creative, and professional endeavors. In time, this knowledge of the self may also reduce symptoms such as depression, anxiety, and physical pain. I am a New York State licensed master social worker and graduated with honors from Silberman School of Social Work. I am a candidate in adult psychoanalysis at the Contemporary Freudian Society. I have also been trained in the treatment of eating disorders. I have worked with people of diverse racial, ethnic, religious, gender, sexuality, and class backgrounds. I invite you to reach out to me.

I am dedicated to providing a safe, empathetic space that encourages vulnerable expression. Together, we can unpack your history and develop a better understanding of your life, which sets the foundation for growth and transformation. You may have trouble managing your emotions, thoughts, or relationships. You may want a place to unpack your history and develop a better understanding of yourself. If you relate to any of the feelings above, I can help. When we begin work together, we are going on a journey to discover more about what you already know, and what may be hidden beneath the surface. My practice is a space to explore your whole self: thoughts, emotions, desires, past & present, love & hatred, happiness & pain... With this new awareness, you can begin to change.
