VIRTUAL THERAPY SESSIONS VIA ZOOM ADDED DUE TO COVID-19. LGBTQIA friendly. My practice is centered around human issues. Positive relationships are challenging to build. Whether its parent/child, husband/wife, wife/wife, husband/husband or any other combination. My goal is to increase communication, understanding and knowledge between people in order to create positive and productive growth. We will focus on barriers and obstacles that may be keeping us from living our best lives, and work together on mapping out a plan for success. As our society becomes more accepting of alternative relationships, the need for added support has increased. I offer that space where individuals can feel comfortable in knowing they are accepted. I am a fully licensed counselor focusing on sexual issues. This ranges from communication to sexual dysfunction and a variety of topics in between. Giving a voice to individuals who may be afraid to be heard is empowering and fulfilling. No one should be afraid to be happy and for me, it is my passion to be uplifting to all. My practice is based on the West side of Atlanta, but I have various satellite options around the city.
Hello there! I am Abbie Becker (LMSW), a licensed psychotherapist specializing in DBT, RO-DBT, and CBT for adolescents and young adults. I work with clients that are seeking out services for individual, family, and group therapy. Whether you are new to therapy, ready to return, or wavering at the thought, I’m eager to connect – no matter where you are in life. Before we explore the fundamental question of “What brings you to therapy?”, I think it’s only reasonable for you to become acquainted with your potential therapist. I incorporate my values into practice by instilling authenticity, empathy, kindness, resiliency, and vulnerability. Originating in Metro Atlanta and raised on Georgia football, I received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Georgia, while managing to find my way back to Atlanta for a master’s in clinical social work from Kennesaw State. On any given day, you can find me unapologetically jamming to music, scanning flight deals for my next place of travel, and expressing creativity through unfinished furniture flips, blank canvases, and original jewelry designs. I’m passionate about working with individuals who have challenges with anxiety, depression, mood instability, medical trauma, under-controlled and over-controlled traits, women’s health, belongingness, and self-esteem. With hundreds of relationships established across my diverse experiences with a human trafficking non-profit and three residential facilities - including Hillside, a nationally recognized treatment program - I consistently recognize that no one is too broken, hopeless, or unworthy of having a life that is worth living. The unpredictable elements of life can be overwhelming. At times, it feels like the sun may never rise. However, these are also the bittersweet moments that foster personal growth, and it would be my absolute privilege in guiding you to the warm light. I commend you for taking courageous steps to nurture yourself through counseling. It is my privilege to come alongside clients with support, insight, encouragement, education, and tools for growth. I excel in rapport building, creating relational safety in the counseling space, acclimating clients who are new to the counseling process, and helping connect clients with resources. My areas of emphasis include grief, life transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression, co-dependency, and couples issues. I gladly offer a complimentary 15-minute consult to discuss your counseling concerns. My office is near Northlake Mall, where Decatur, Atlanta, and Tucker meet.
Starting therapy can feel a little intimidating — especially if you’re juggling school, work, relationships, or figuring out your next steps in life. My job is to make that process feel less overwhelming and more like a conversation where you can be your real self. I work with young adults navigating anxiety, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, depression, self-esteem challenges, and big life transitions. I bring a mix of evidence-based tools (like CBT and Solution-Focused Therapy) and plenty of real-world perspective to help you make sense of what’s going on, build confidence, and create changes that actually stick. Sometimes that means breaking down big problems into smaller, doable steps; sometimes it’s about finding new ways to see yourself & your future. Whether you’re feeling stuck, burned out, or just ready to figure yourself out a little more, I’ll meet you where you are — no judgment, no one-size-fits-all advice. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable, understood, and even able to laugh along the way.

We all need spaces where we can show up as our full, authentic selves—messy, complex, and human. In our work together, we'll explore what’s been holding you back and what’s helped you get through, always focusing on what feels most meaningful and supportive for you. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, lost in the noise of expectations, or silently battling anxiety, depression, or thoughts that scare you; you’re not alone, and you don’t have to carry it all by yourself. Mona Taqqee is a compassionate counselor who creates a safe, affirming space for students navigating life’s heaviest moments. With a deep understanding of emotional pain, identity struggles, and the quiet exhaustion of trying to “keep it together,” Mona offers trauma-informed care that honors your pace, your story, and your strength. Whether you’re facing academic pressure, identity confusion, grief, suicidal ideation, or just trying to make it through the day, Mona meets you with warmth, non-judgment, and practical tools rooted in mindfulness, somatic awareness, and deep listening. You don’t need to be “fixed.” You deserve to be heard. Let’s walk this path together.
I specialize in working with girls, women, and gender-expansive individuals navigating eating disorders, anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma. Many of my clients are highly self-aware and emotionally sensitive, yet feel overwhelmed by the weight of expectations, inner criticism, or the pressure to keep functioning while struggling beneath the surface. If you're a young adult or adult, you may be in a season of transition, burnout, or disconnection. You might be questioning your worth, your direction, or your relationship with your body and mind. Therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening internally, and begin to move forward with clarity and self-compassion. My approach is trauma-informed and rooted in compassion, curiosity, and connection. My style of therapy meets you where you are, honoring your lived experience while gently guiding you toward deeper healing.

It takes great strength and courage to reach out in our times of need. I consider it a privilege to join you on your journey and believe deeply in the healing that is possible within the therapeutic process. Our desire for relationships is beautiful. Within relationship we can experience the fullness of this beauty, but often they are what leave us fractured and fragmented. In counseling, I believe, we can put the pieces of us back together to experience personal wholeness once again. When we begin to experience the fullness within ourselves, we then can encounter the beauty of connection and relationship with others. Deeply valuing the uniqueness of each person, I aim to create a safe, compassionate, and authentic space by integrating the whole person into our work. Primarily working from an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) model, we will seek to reintegrate each disjointed part of us back into the whole, utilizing our mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, and relational parts. My faith is meaningful to me, and I welcome working with people of diverse faith backgrounds and beliefs. Throughout my own journey I have found that sorrow and joy often walk together. In our work together, I desire to hold space for the pain and hurt you have experienced, while also making space for moments of laughter and joy along the way. Within my therapeutic space I seek to create room for the dark and the difficult, as well as recognize the moments we need to take a breath from the heavy, and laugh. I want to follow where you lead. In my free time I love cooking, enjoying the outdoors with my husband, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, playing soccer, coaching athletes of all ages and stages, and laughing with my friends and family!
I am a Millennial therapist providing virtual sessions who loves to help people achieve a more balanced life. Together, we will explore concerns you may have such as low self-confidence, unhealthy boundaries, stress and anxiety, difficulty completing tasks, career exploration, work/life balance, depression, relationship issues, or even if you just need a listening ear. I aim to create a comforting space that allows you to dive deep to the root causes of your concerns. I currently work with Renewed Journey Counseling Services LLC and am under the supervision of Msichana McDole. I have enjoyed utilizing a person-centered approach to counseling which views the client as the expert on themselves. I have helped clients gain new confidence in themselves, engage in self-care, learn new strategies through CBT, create and maintain healthy boundaries, and overall find balance in their lives. As someone who continues to work on strategies to combat anxiety, I know how important it is to find a therapist who gets you. My clients have enjoyed my direct but comforting approach to sessions. I am a clinical psychologist and sub-specialize in couples and family therapy. I help couples and individuals deal with a variety of issues that may be interfering with relationships such as depression, anxiety, infidelity, poor communication, constant fighting, lack of motivation, or feelings of disconnection. My goal as a therapist is to give my clients the tools to achieve the kind of control that lets them be in charge. This is the only true path to a happy and fulfilling relationship. I also help parents deal with children who may be unmotivated, anxious, depressed, or oppositional. I believe parents need to be strategic with troubled children. Sessions focus on empowering parents with tools to reduce parent-child power struggles, stop self-defeating behavior and improve self-esteem and motivation to succeed. Clients leave my office having a clear idea of what they need to do to improve their circumstances. I aim to achieve positive change in the briefest time possible. I have had success with many clients that have seen multiple previous therapists.
We are a person-centered psychotherapy and holistic health practice who prioritizing clients as human beings with strengths, challenges, and barriers, rather than problems to be fixed. Our clinicians are highly trained, and experienced in a wide range of clinical modalities and perspectives. At the root of our practice, we integrate the complete person (mind-body-spirit-emotions) through mindfulness, balance, and connection. We don't overcomplicate getting better. Instead, we utilize effective and approachable methods to meet you where you are in your life, and help you get where you want to be.
Adapting to new environments, personalities and requirements can be a difficult transition for college students and their families. Additionally, social pressures, feelings of depression and anxiety are common. Unexpected stresses, failures or even success can bring a variety of emotions that may feel overwhelming. I work with individuals (and their families when appropriate and desired by the client) to process experiences, feelings and assist in discovering strengths and coping skills.
